Piedmont and Liguria - Italy

JUNE 23 - JUNE 29, 2019

The Peloton Ride

Every once in a while we engage in inspiring projects, such as the Peloton Italian ride. Beppe Salerno - Tourissimo's co-founder - and Clive Pursehouse - Cultural Editor at Peloton Magazine - did this ride the summer of 2017. It was such a great experience that - with the blessing of Peloton Magazine - Tourissimo now runs a tour that covers the same ground. You can join us on this special ride!

The article published in the Travel Issue of Peloton Magazine (March 2018). You can read it HERE if you missed it.

In the Tour Description you'll learn that:

  • You would start in Piedmont wine region and homeland of great champions
  • You would continue on to the Ligurian Riviera to reach Sanremo
  • It's a fully-supported, guided tour in Tourissimo's backyard

Request the Tour Summary

An opportunity to experience Italian culture from atop a bicycle should be embraced with zeal; particularly if it comes in the company of Piemontese who know the place like the back of their hands. Beppe Salerno, owner and operator of Tourissimo; meets me at the terminal in Turin and we head straight for the hills of Gavi. Our first stop is the resort at Villa Sparina in Monterotondo. A breathtaking tuscan yellow inn, dating to the 18th century, perches above picturesque estate vineyards where the local white grape cortese grows. There are few things that help with jet lag like a ride, so we head out for a short one, following the pedal strokes of a local boy who would become an international icon.
